There’s no arguing that Lakin Ogunbanwo has become synonymous with Nigerian Fashion Photography with his fresh, bold, daring and versatility, he challenges the contemporary imagery of fashion photography on the continent. It is therefore understandable why his strong visual style and artistry is having a huge influence on the direction of photography, both in Lagos and beyond.
Over the years, Lakin has shot some of the most prominent labels and people in Nigerian Fashion for top Fashion publications, such as Omoyemi Akerele for BOF, Maki Oh for Style.com not to talk less of the numerous edtiorials, and magazines covers he has shot since his return to Nigeria in 2011 from Paris.
Lakin Ogunbanwo follows in the footsteps of the renowned studio photographers who captured Africa’s popular culture as the winds of independence swept across the continent.
