Former governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, is dead.
The former Minister of Aviation is said to have died at his Ibadan residence in Oyo State Friday evening, according to family sources. Agagu, born February 16, 1948, was governor of Ondo State from May 29, 2003 until February 2009, when a court voided his re-election on account of electoral irregularities.
The court ruling meant that he was replaced as governor of Ondo State by his rival, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.
The late ex-governor rose to become the number one citizen of Ondo State by as a member of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
